Fifty miles south of the City of Iraklion, in the island of Crete, the visitor will find the ruins of the second biggest city of Minoan Crete, Phaistos. Among other precious findings, the archaelogical dig unarthed a disc of fired clay . It is 15cm in diameter and covered on both sides with a spiral of stamped symbols.
The Disc of Phaistos is one of the pieces of my ceramic handmade jewelry that always generates interest. Archaelogists have been trying to decipher the disc without any success. There are many theories behind its meaning. Some experts claim the disc to be a form of calendar, whereas some others believe that it a geometric theorem.
The Disc of Phaistos has inspired artists to create jewelry pendants similar to the disc found in Crete. One will find the disc in gold or silver. My handmade Disc of Phaistos is a ceramic pendant made in Greece and it comes in many different colors. Visitors always enquire its meaning and get more interested and excited when they hear about the mystery covering the Disc of Phaistos.
I found out that each time the artist takes the time and effort to convey the meaning of a particular jewelry piece to the consumer, the opportunity to close the sale increases significantly.
The Disc of Phaistos transmits a mystery and magic to the buyer.

Beat Your Winter Blues with Greek Jewelry!
As we are going through the cold winter days and nights, with all the snow and the low temperatures, I can only think of some ideas that will help you beat your winter blues.
My Greek jewelry site is the source of simple jewelry with light colors and elegant designs.
A traditional sterling silver, gold plated spiral Greek key necklace will match perfectly any dress color while you dine in your favorite restaurant. The necklace comes with an equally impressive pair of matching spiral Greek key earrings.
For those ladies who have a greater affinity to colorful necklaces, I would recommend the red crystal necklace in sterling silver or the beautiful honey colored crystal necklace.
Last year, we enhanced our collection with beautiful sterling silver rings made with millefiori murano glass. The art and simplicity of our millefiori rings reflects in their shape and design.
Finally, our cross pendants are also handmade in traditional, yet sleek lines.
Wherever you are around the world, even for those who are looking right now out of their windows at the beautiful winter flurries forming a white mantle in your yard, there is a piece of Greek jewelry of all colors and styles awaiting for you.

What is in the Greek key?
Has anyone noticed the pattern of repeated vertical and horizontal lines in necklaces and bracelets?
This is the Greek key pattern. It is also known as "Meandros" or "Meander" a river which flows in the same pattern and it is located in Asia Minor.
The simplicity and elegance of the Greek key concept has inspired many designers to create jewelry showing that pattern. The Greek key was widespread in other art fields such as architecture.
One can see the Greek Fret ornating the Ancient Greek temples.
Is there a deeper meaning of the Greek key concept? The Greek key symbolizes the flow of life, eternal life, eternal love, and eternal friendship. There is no better way than having your wedding bands ornated with the Greek pattern.

Athens Jewelry Exhibition Sparks Interest
With only two days remaining before Popularart.gr and technima-expo.gr open their doors to the General public, I wanted to take the opportunity and wish to both organizers and vendors a very successful exhibition.
In a volatile market such as the current one, it is imperative that artists and jewelry makers do well.
The aim of these exhibitions is to provide suppliers who cater for the major island tourist market, with new pieces of work. Yet, this is a tremendous opportunity for any American who wants to import unique products of Greek art.
Some varieties of products include, ceramics, paintings, Greek cosmetics, worry beads, Greek jewelry and others.
The exhibitions take place in the new modern Athens Metropolitan Exhibition Center located in Hellinikon, the old Athens airport.
So, go ahead and visit Athens for a few nights. The airfares are inexpensive this time of the year :)

Happy New Year
Dear Friends !
2008 was an exciting year for me.
First, we added new jewelry designs from Greece and Italy. My customers got the opportunity to see and admire new art work in the Greek festivals in towns along the East Coast.
My commitment to quality and customer service paid off dividents as well. My sales increased in tough economic times. I want to thank my loyal customers for that.
Loyal and repeat customers are the best source of advertisement for a merchant.
2009 is going to be another exciting year. I created this blog with you in mind. It aims to facilitate the communication between the jeweler and the consumer.
What would you like to hear or see? What products do you want me to add to my site?
Your voice is important to me.
I want to wish to you and your family a prosperous, healthy and successful New Year!
Thank you for your support !
